Budget PC's - To build or not to build?

Hardware & Gizmos

DellIt never ceases to amaze me how cheap PC's are getting these days and how less and less it becomes worth building one yourself (unless you want something special). After being asked to spec up a PC for a customer whom I provide IT support for I went on to see how cheap I could possibly make a reasonably decent PC.

Dells rather interesting Vostro range came to the rescue with a surprising sub £200 machine.

VostroSure the VAT and delivery add a bit of a whack on the price (Dell have always had an outrageous £50 delivery) but at the end of the day this is a real computer with a decent CPU, decent disk and decent amount of RAM. As well as that it comes with a proper version of Vista which on its own could cost you almost as much as the PC if you were to buy it separately.
